Nvtr- Thanks for your comment- I went to check out the Dead Space game and it does look fun, and fairly similar in some details to my story. It wasn’t a copy either way, as I wrote the story about 4 years ago, though clearly we both drew on the same vein of alien-infection / lonely sci-fi madness. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks again for commenting .

I can understand the publishers saying it was derivative, taking into account that the same formula has been used a lot since the original Alien first came out. This story particularly reminded me of Visceral Games’ Dead Space from last fall, although it doesn’t seem as though this is copying it.

Nevermind that, an entertaining read. It held itself together and the writing was solid. I was hooked me, even though it didn’t quite bring anything revolutionary to the formula. Thanks.

Leongsoon- Excellent, thanks so much for commenting to let me know.

Can- To a movie producer, wow, I’ll think about it. I sent it to magazine publishers and one of them said it was too derivative- human-impregnating aliens and all.

Tornadoes- Were you into Norse religion? As a kid I was. Freya is of course a Viking Goddess.

A pretty good read Mike, couldn’t stop until I’d finished it!
Would make a great SF horror movie, you should send the script to a movie producer.

Wow, that was intense, really intense. Had me by paragraph one and I couldn’t stop until I’d finished it. I like the ending; maybe his friends were with him, maybe he was hallucinating, who knows? Great work!
