David- I applaud your efforts to read right through to the end! (albeit with some skipping...) It's pretty gross. I wrote it years ago now, it has actually been published on a webzine- they paid me $50!- but that was years ago too, and that magazine went under a while ago. When I was editing it to post it turned my stomach. And bleak! Certainly no light spot in it.

It's interesting you picked up on the moon- I noticed that too. I guess that piece laid the foundation for Leanna. It also, I now notice, laid the foundation for another story where a guy is stranded at sea. In the other story there's no necrophagy though, you'll be pleased to hear ;)

Mike- I don't blame you to not read it through, it's pretty graphic. I wrote it about five years ago, and haven't really looked at it since.

I have to admit, I couldn't read the whole thing either, quite grim..., had to skim through quite a bit.

Not that it was badly written though, just couldn't get around (like David) the graphic-ness of having to eat a loved one.

Was this something you wrote recently? A while ago?

Curiosity killed (then ate) the cat.

Strategic paragraph-skipping carried me to the end of the story. Well-written, and the final twist is interesting, but this is one tunnel with no light at the end. Hope wife is not serving meat for dinner tonight.

To be more specific, the writing is excellent as usual, and you have started a very interesting plot. I really would like to know what happens to the character. Unfortunately, the graphically detailed necrophagy is an obstacle that goes past my comfort point. I lack the fortitude to read the story to the end.

Also, this is the second tale of yours I've read where the Moon is a villain. Have you got something against our mochi-making rabbit friend?

Dark indeed. This one was too much for me to read farther than half-way. I hope you managed to pull out something of light at the end, but I don't think I'll be reading it.
