Jason- Thanks, yeah, though actually it's an older story- I'll clear out some other stories that never saw the light of day- then see if I can fire up the writing engine again.

Can- Thanks, and as above, a bit of an old story I could never place on a zine- inspired by a great modern art installation I saw at the Taro Okamoto art museum. He had a competition for modern artists and the 12 or so winners were on display- one of them was a diorama of a giant khaki robot arm, maybe 6 meters long, surrounded by tanks and planes, all in sepia khaki tones. Imagine it to scale with the tanks, and it would be huge. I wish I could've taken a photo or bought a print. That giant arm got me thinking about the robot it had fallen from. I've no idea where the myna bird came from though.

Yes, good to see that you're still writing! Was this done recently or one of your older works?

Anyway an enjoyable read. What prompted you to write this?

Ah, yes, I couldn't quite recall what the robot in your story was making me think of, but now yeah, the robots in Laputa (Castle in the Sky).

Good to see that you are writing again.

Mike, I really enjoyed this one. Made me think of Studio Ghibli. My favorite image was of the frogs and fish swimming inside of the robot as the crater dries up.

Simple. Imaginitive. Thanks.
